Hi all,
I am slightly going off the topic of the theme I presented, but can't resist to mention April 14th , 2010 evening which is the date when I attended my first ever live musical concert.
PANDIT JASRAJ along with his 5 supporters on tabla, pakhawaj, harmonium, sarangi(two) were present on the stage. Unlike most of the Indian events it started at exactly at the time mentioned to start 1830hrs.
The threater was jam packed, people were outnumbering the seats available, some of them were standing and some of them were sitting on floor/stairs. The age group of the of the audience is varying not only older people came to cherish but also the young ones were present there.
The two hour long concert started with paying obeisance to God and following with the four mesmerizing bandhish by Pt Jasraj.
The range of his voice was too large and everytime he explored his range only to attract a cheer applause from the audience. His quality and talent can't be explained in mere words one need to listen to appreciate his fuller sense of commitment towards music and God.
In summary, last evening was a scintillating, jubiliant and a memorable experience.
The true sense of Indian classical music unfolded to give mind and soul an cherishing moment in lifetime.

Changing Dynamics
In a dormitory :
"Aye, Bihari", called a junior fellow to a senior who is from Bihar (this nickname we used to address him in sarcasm)
After this address we all in the room witnessed the showers of slaps and abusive words pouring profusely on that junior by our colleague who is from Bihar until we manage to tranquilize his anger.
Then, after two days I asked him about the situation of Bihar and Bihari's he told me :
"The people of Bihar are facing an identity crises "
We discussed more on several aspect of Bihar and UP only to find out the intensity of chaos in the state of lesser God in my Motherland.
Thanks to the caste politics in the fertile heartland of Hindi belt of the country - the world witnessed the decline of social and economic situation in the states of UP and Bihar. Then the population in search of job moved to the states which are more industrious like Maharashtra. And now we witnessed the a new political identity "marathi manoos".
The countrywide famous clash is not something which is beyond the laws of social sciences. It was well predicted that this type of struggle can be seen.
But the saddest part of the history is that it can't be prevented.
Caste politics overshadowed the long term vision of the voters.
But now the tide is changing the people and govt of Bihar have understood their mistake they had made in last 15 yrs.

Sample a excerpt from a news report of last week
"That Bihar was indeed becoming a state where the mundane was getting mainstream -- a sign of normalcy in itself--was evident at a recent session in Patna that had the Bihar Chamber of Commerce(BCC) getting together with the state's top police officers.
They used to have such meetings almost every year, and each used to be dotted by hysterical arguments with the cops trying to vindicate themselves in front of enraged businessmen living from one threat to the other. Well this year there was only one complaint: Patna's worsening traffic situation.
'Law and order didn't even figure in the meeting. Five years ago, that would have been the only topic', says Yogeshwar Pandey, a senior BCC member"
I am now not going to argue with statistics in my pocket(as they are available freely on goggling it) but here it is noteworthy to say amid better infrastructure and security Bihar's growth rate jumped to 11% more than the national average.
Now it is very interesting to see how people of UP will elect their representatives in next elections seeing their neighboring state rising in absolute terms.
The nature of caste politics and manifesto of political party will signature the change in Indian politics. I hope that we will go from narrow mentality to a global perspective as it is a prime requirement for global competitiveness. It is very interesting to see what will be the near future of these states and only this a major stake of Indian nation and people is on bet.

India's future will be a grand history
"Over the next decade, several brand new cities will sprout across th Indian landscape, with both government and India Inc. chipping in URBAN DREAMS"
cover story of sunday economic times dated 28 march, 2010
The next generation India is witnessing a growth in software industry but now comes the future -- after NREGA new planned cities are proposed and being witness to such a grand master plan, is a noted moment in lifetime.
Sample this:
"Today, petroleum, steel, cement, infotech, auto and other industries are spurring town-to-city transformations, conurbanisations and extensions, if now always new cities."
from the same news report.
take example of noida, gurgaon, pune, bangalore, navi mumbai and also mundra, kandla are some extensions.
The next trend is the brand new cities which India has seen very less in the past barring few ones like Chandigarh.
An exerpt "The greenfield cities on the anvil -- Dholera in Gujrat, Manesar-Bawal in Harayana, Indore-Mhow in Madhya Pradesh, and Dighi and Nasik-Igtapuri in Maharashtra -- have been conceived on grand scale, along the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor(DMIC)"
a plan for the near future by govt of India.
So, now you all think what is history in it, they all are future plans.
But remember that we are in India and not in China, Europe, America where the things so such smoothly. There are conflicting cultures, languanges, religion.
The grandest thing to see is that how the new Indian urban middle class will adjust to this and how the cultural changes and changes in the view point goes from now.
->How do we celebrate diwali when most of India will be super-rich ?
->Do the new generation - i mean to say- the kids of the young ones who are reading it will behave like -- will they be equally arrogant as you are or little less or a slight more?
->How much new city will have impact of American and European culture or will there be buffalo's bada near each house(this is extreme)?
->In those new cities what will be the religious equation will be played by politics or will new India will be politcally literate?
->Do naxals approach city then after winning support from rural areas?
->The new education system will reduce pressure in future or will it disrupt the quality of education?
->How would be the policing system will be there in the new cities -- will be like the rotten one like lucknow or ISO certified of Hyderbad?
->How govt will safeguard new cities from terrorists threat?
->The most important question what will play a major role in new cites --- MONEY OR POLITICS ?
->Last but not the least do these proposed project will complete successfully/partial successfully/partial failure/failure?
My estimation is that there will be a mixture of chaos and excellence and it will be worth to watch such mix of drama in Indian growth story.
New unexpected thing will come out .
But the most things will depend upon the fluctuations of voting turnout of urban adults in elections.
